Learn to Drive In Derby. We Offer Manual & Automatic Driving Lessons

We are a locally based independently run driving school with driving instructors based in Derby. Established in 2005, our driving school has gained a reputation for offering quality driving instructionย for a fair price.

We always strive to train our pupils to the highest standard and competency of driving without needing an excessive amount of lessons. Whether you are looking to gain a manual or automatic license, our driving instructors use modern, fully insured, learner-friendly dual control cars, and offer a patient and friendly teaching environment.

We ensure you are not only ready for your test, but ready for taking to the road by yourself with confidence after you pass.

Everybodyโ€™s journey learning to drive is different. Thatโ€™s why we go out of our way to make sure yourย driving lessons are tailored to your requirements and learning ability.

The DVSAโ€™s guidance states that on average that a person will need around 45 hours of lessons and up to 25 hours in a friend or family members car. However there are people who need less than 20 or more than 80 hours of driving lessons.

We ensure you get the right amount of lessons so that youโ€™re confident in driving but not overspending. Not only this but we aim to assist you in every aspect of obtaining your license, from offering useful resources that can help you pass to helping you book your test.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you cover last minute tests?

We do as long as we can get you in our diaries, and you must be prepared to have at least a 2 hour driving assessment before we confirm you may use our car for test.

How long does the driving test last?

The test lasts approximately 40 minutes including identity check, eye sight check and a reverse manoeuvre.

Does the examiner take my licence if I pass?

The examiner will give you the choice of them sending your licence to be upgraded or you can do it yourself (you have to do this within 2 years of passing).

Everybodyโ€™s journey learning to drive is different. The DVSAโ€™s guidance states that on average that a person will need around 45 hours of lessons and up to 25 hours in a friend or family members car. However there are people who need less than 20 or more than 80 hours of driving lessons.

Can I learn in my own car?

Yes, as long as your instructor is happy that your car is insured for you to intake driving lessons in, and that they are happy that you are safe enough for them to have no duel controls available.
